The assignment was to create an artwork that included an element of time - either actual or implied. Some of my initial ideas were:

The sketches above were three of my favorite ideas. I thought first about doing a zeotrope, so these are the images that I would have began with. I then decided to do a pastel on canvas (right). This was inspired by photographs of a specific dancer who is a friend of mine.
From this image, I decided to an animated gif. I filmed two dancers, took still shots from the video, and compiled them all in photoshop in a short combination that would repeat. I then edited each frame, and created the gif that is on the animation section of this website. The original photoshop file has 106 frames.
